Curfews were in place in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Yobe states and heavy security presence on the second day of the demonstrations.

Our Correspondent who was on the ground to cover Day 3 of the protest, witnessed officers of the Counter Terrorism Unit, distinguishable by their red headgear arrive at the Pleasure Park where there were other regular policemen.

The officers were seen blocking the road while clutching tightly to their guns, and at the same time impeding movement in an apparent show of force for about five minutes, before moving on.

Their presence succeeded in sending shivers down spines, and a clear message to a pocket-full of protesters on the ground.

Some of the protesters who were seen holding onto placards for display, were dissuaded from lifting their written signcards as they watched the officers drive on.

“Nah Una we dey fight for” (We are fighting for you too), some of the protesters told the security operatives as they drove past.
