Police Arrest Suspected Foreign Sponsors Of Protest With Russian Flag

The Nigerian Police have announced the arrest of foreign nationals suspected of being sponsors of protests with the Russian flag in some parts of the country.

The police commissioner Salman Garba disclosed this after a security meeting with the Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf on Tuesday.

According to him, the police and other security agencies will clamp down on anyone trying to temper the security of the state.

He also announced further relaxation of the curfew from 6 am to 6 pm.

The #Endbadgovernance nationwide protests against hardship and hunger took a twist on Monday, with protesters in some Northern states holding up the Russian flag as they chanted “Tinubu must go”.

Reactions have since poured in, with human rights activists and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, like Femi Falana, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Mustapha, describing the act as a treasonable offence.
