Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has directed the immediate cancellation of the All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting scheduled for Thursday at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi.
The place, located on J S Tarka Way, has been under heavy security lockdown since the intra-party dispute over who leads the APC in the state.
Governor Alia gave the directive on Wednesday night during a press conference at the Government House, maintaining that as the leader of APC in Benue, he is unaware of any stakeholders meeting of the party, therefore, the proposed party meeting for Thursday is null and void.

He applauded the decision of the meeting of the Council of State which passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu, warning that any gathering that has no legitimacy and is capable of raising tension to mar the public goodwill and endorsement of President Tinubu’s efforts at providing good governance with over sixty truck loads of free fertilizer to Benue farmers
