Security has been beefed up at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Edo State ahead of collation of results for Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Stern-looking and weapon-wielding security operatives including police, and the army were stationed around the collation centre with armoured tanks.
With voting, sorting and counting of votes having been concluded in most polling centres in the keenly contested election, collation of results from the 18 local governments of the state is expected to begin any moment from now.
