Gunmen abducted and killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State Bako Bala.
The Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Television and Radio Zaidu Bala said the armed men kidnapped Bala in his hometown, shot him, and abandoned him in a pool of his blood.
Bala was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi where he unfortunately died on Wednesday from his gunshot wounds.

In a related incident, bandits allegedly kidnapped a person in Matseri village under Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State and shot a young man who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi.
Efforts to reach the Kebbi State Police Command spokesperson Nafiu Abubakar for comments on the incidents were unsuccessful.
Nigerian forces have for years been fighting criminal gangs described as bandits who have been targeting communities in northwestern and central Nigeria.
The gangs frequently raid villages, kill and abduct residents for ransom, and loot and torch homes.
