Six persons, all adult males, have been confirmed dead in a multiple road accident involving five vehicles in the Amuloko area of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The Oyo State Road Safety Command confirmed the incident on Monday in a report signed by the Sector Public Education Officer, Mayowa Idewo, and made available to Channels Television.
The report noted that six adult male lost their lives while five adult males sustained varying degrees of injury.
The accident which occurred in the early hours of Monday at Oke-Elesin, Amuloko in Ona-Ara local government area of Oyo state, involved five vehicles comprising two articulated vehicles, a minibus and two tricycles which were significantly damaged due to the impact.

Eyewitness accounts say one of the trucks carrying tiles lost control due to possible brake failure, and rammed into another truck carrying drinks while the tricycles and the minibus all got caught up in the chaos that ensued.
Eyewitnesses corroborated FRSC’s figure of fatality as they claimed that six people died at the scene of the accident.
The five adult males who sustained injuries have been taken to a neighbourhood hospital where they are receiving treatment while those who died have been deposited at the morgue of the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
Road safety noted in the release that drivers should adhere strictly to road safety rules and regulations, to reduce avoidable crashes and loss of lives.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the area as security operatives including men of Operation Burst, OYRTMA, Police, Road Safety, Amotekun, and local vigilantes have been deployed to clear the traffic Jam in that axis which was caused by the accident.
