New Police Commissioner Assumes Duty In Edo

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, and trained in the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.


 

Umoru Ozigi has assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Edo State.

A statement by the Edo State Police Command issued through its Police Public Relations Officer, Joel Yamu, said the new CP who hails from Adavi LGA of Kogi State, is a graduate of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, and trained in the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

He is said to have served the Force in various capacities within the last 30 years, and was the Commissioner of Police, Force Provost Marshal, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The command said the new CP is mindful of the yearnings of the people of Edo State in terms of security and safety, and is soliciting the cooperation of the public to subdue all forms of crime and criminality in the state.
