Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara, has strongly denied allegations that he was arrested by the Kano Hisbah Command for allegedly having an affair with a married woman.

The commissioner described the claims as “entirely false, baseless, and malicious,’ stating that they were part of a plot to tarnish his reputation.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, Sankara said, “I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious, aimed at tarnishing my reputation. I urge the general public to disregard this fabricated story, which has been concocted by certain political elements to damage my character and integrity.”

The commissioner emphasized his commitment to upholding moral values, noting that as a married man, he respects the institution of marriage.

“I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity,” he said.

Sankara also disclosed his intention to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the false allegations.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information and attempting to cause harm to my person,” he added.

The commissioner’s rebuttal comes amid a wave of reactions on social media, with some expressing support for him while others called for a thorough investigation.

Meanwhile, the Kano Hisbah Command has not released any official statement regarding the alleged incident.

Sankara, who is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA), reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Jigawa State with dedication and integrity, urging the public to disregard what he termed a politically motivated smear campaign.
