The 2024/2025 executives of the Independent Broadcasting Association of Nigeria (IBAN) have promised that its plans will be focused and designed to foster professional growth, innovation and operational efficiency among its members, while ensuring that Nigerian Broadcasters remain competitive and adaptable to the rapidly changing media landscape.
The assurance was given by the IBAN’s Chairman, Ahmed Ramalan while delivering his welcome address and acceptance speech at the association’s 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos on Wednesday.
While outlining the 2024/2025 IBAN’s action plan, Ramalan said the exco members are also working closely with the Bank of Industry (BOI) for single-digit loans, to enable members to key into the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas programs to tackle some industry challenges especially the issue of power.

It also listed some of its plans including thoroughly engaging Our regulator; the National Broadcasting Commission NBC in ensuring that the long-anticipated Digital switchover is achieved with clear-cut policies and agenda, a training programme for Chief Executives which can be in collaboration with Lagos Business School or Pan African University, training programme for marketing, producing and engineering, and workshops and masterclasses in partnership with NBC, ARCON and BON.
Other plans he listed include; a digital Transformation Boot camp for Youths and Broadcast Academy, a seminar for Women in Broadcasting, and an advertisers and audience measurement workshop or seminar in collaboration with MIPAN, MPS and the Regulators.
“Distinguished members, I want to enjoin you all to fully support the Executive Council to carry out these agendum. This can only be achieved if “all hands are on deck”. Your financial support/ payments of annual dues will go a long way in achieving these plans. It is not a good report that some members have yet to pay their registration fee and annual dues as of today. This is not going to help in the smooth running of the Association,” he added.
