However, he decried the lingering ICT infrastructure gaps in the country, which he said both the Katsina State Government and the Federal Government are trying hard to bridge.

According to Ahmad, digital transformation cannot occur if most of the population is excluded.

“That’s why the Executive Governor of Katsina State is encouraging investors to come and invest in building the necessary infrastructure for us to achieve the digital transformation and one of his goals is to make sure that at least, every Local Government in the State has one digital touch bite which is like a home where people can go there to access the basic internet service with stable and sustainable power supply”, he noted.

Also speaking, the Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Computing Society, Katsina State Branch, Hajiya Zainab Lawal Sani described the workshop as timely which she believed, has come at the right time when a lot of complex issues about server security, cryptocurrency, and money laundering, fraud among other issues are on the increase.

“Gradually, ICT will reach out to rural areas”, she hoped.
