Lagos Seasiders, Safety Shooters Lose In Ardova Handball League

Sokoto Rima Strikers pilled pressure on table toppers Tojemarine Academy following a 29-24 victory over Lagos Seasiders on day 8 of the 2024 Ardova handball premier league title-deciding phase in Lagos.

Sokoto Rima Strikers are now second on the men’s table with 50 points, two shy of Tojemarine Academy who earned an easy win over Kogi Confluence Stars.

Three-time Kano Pillars bounced back to winning ways after a hard-fought 33-32 triumph over Adamawa Warriors.

Title holders Niger United battled past Safety Shooters 23-22 while Benue Buffaloes outclassed De Defenders 30-19 just as Corrections Boys comfortably outscored Sunshine Kings 40-25.

In the women’s cadre, Safety Babes are coasting home to a fourth unprecedented title following an impressive victory over Plateau Peacocks.

Safety Babes stayed 7 points clear of second-placed Defender Babes after beating 2018 champion Plateau Peacocks 40-28.

Defender Babes posted an important 40-26 victory over Imo Grasshoppers.

In the other games, River Queens emerged winners of the South-South derby as they edged past Delta Queens 30-29 .

Seasider Babes stunned Sokoto Rima Queens 23-22 while COAS Babes moved out of the relegation zone following a 39-29 win over bottom-placed Bendel Dynamos.
