Katsina Trains Newly Recruited Electoral Officers

The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission on Monday restated its commitment towards conducting free, fair, credible and acceptable Local Government Elections in the State scheduled for 15th of February, 2025.

At the opening of a 2-day Orientation and training workshop organised for the 21 newly recruited electoral officers in the State Capital, the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Lawal Faskari said, the workshop for the newly recruited electoral officers is aimed at equipping trainees with all that is expected from them before, during and after the elections as contained in the approved Time-Table for the election.

Faskari pointed out that the Commission had been following and will continue to follow all stipulated procedures, rules and regulations governing the conduct of the Local Government Council Elections as enshrined by the Electoral Acts 2022 as amended, the State Electoral Laws and other enabling laws.

He explained that the orientation programme will further equip the participants in discharging their

responsibilities as Electoral Officers and Admin Officers of election well as their respective Local Government responsibilities of Ad-hoc staff to be recruited for the election.

He urged them to pay all necessary attention comprehend all that they will learn and follow the due processes as provided by the laws.

He further seized the opportunity to appreciate the support and cooperation rendered by members of the Commission and the staff toward realizing the aims and objectives of the Commission.

“This appreciation also goes to all stakeholders of the election who ensure the Commission succeed in the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections as they participated in all the activities, particularly the Political Parties, the Security Agencies and the Press who have been with us in all our activities from the date of announcement to date.
