Union Berlin Sack Coach Svensson After Six Months In Charge

Union Berlin have sacked head coach Bo Svensson after only six months at the helm, the Bundesliga club announced on Friday.

The 45-year-old Dane took over in July after Union narrowly avoided relegation last season.

But he was fired with the club sitting 12th in the German top flight, seven points clear of the relegation play-off place.

“We are convinced that a significant change is necessary to reverse the trend,” said Union managing director Horst Heldt in a statement.
