The Adamawa Police Command says its men in collaboration with local security outfits have raided a notorious kidnappers’ hideout in the mountains of Holma in the Song Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Suleiman Ngurore, who made this known in a statement, said heavily armed suspects engaged the security operatives in a gun duel.
According to the police spokesman, one kidnapper was killed while others escaped with bullet wounds. A suspect identified as Mohammed Sale was also apprehended at the scene.
A cache of weapons including one AK-47 rifle, two locally made guns, and five rounds of AK-47 live ammunition was recovered from the operation.

The suspect who is already in custody is assisting the police in their investigations to apprehend those who escaped, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, Morris Dankwambo, has praised the efforts of his personnel and the vigilantes.
Dankwambo promised continued collaboration with other security agencies to rid the state of criminal elements.
He therefore appealed to residents to report suspicious individuals, especially those with wounds, as investigations continue with a view to apprehending the remaining members of the gang.
