The Rivers State Government has officially cancelled all pending procurement and tender processes conducted by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, announced that the decision aligns with the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming the Appeal Court’s judgment in Suit No. CA/ABJ/CV/133/2024.

He said the Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, directed that all affected MDAs must refund tender fees paid by contractors during the period in question.
The refund process is to be completed immediately, pending the pproval of a state spending plan.
The government assured the residents of the state that further updates on financial planning and procurement procedures would be communicated in due course.
