A popular commercial bus driver, Muihili Adebayo, has been abducted by gunmen in Owo, Ondo State, with the assailants killing his son and injuring his wife during the attack.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at the residence of the deceased in the Shagari area of Owo in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

A neighbour who spoke to our Correspondent on Thursday disclosed that Adebayo’s wife was shot while resisting the kidnappers, and one of their children was killed during the struggle.

The eyewitness revealed that Adebayo’s wife was receiving treatment in a hospital nearby, but, unfortunately, the boy died on the spot.

A family member who preferred to remain anonymous confirmed that the kidnappers have reached out, demanding a ₦20 million ransom for Adebayo’s release.

The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident, saying the tactical squads of the command are working towards rescuing the victim.
