[VIDEO] Benue Killings: Alia Asks Security Operatives To Protect Affected Communities

 

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has asked the joint security operations to move into Apa and Gwer West Local Government Areas to halt the killings in the area.

He confirmed that 12 persons were killed in Apa while 11 persons were killed in Gwer West, bringing the total to 23. 

Addressing journalists after an emergency security council meeting at the government house on Monday, the governor condemned the attacks.

According to him, more information will be made available soon as the team hit the ground, with the likelihood of the casualty figures changing as security operatives have been directed to sweep the affected communities and restore peace.
