The Kebbi State Government has disbursed approximately ₦337 million to women across all 21 local government areas of the state to support their Sallah celebrations.

Three women were selected from each of the state’s 3,743 polling units, with each beneficiary receiving N30,000.

Speaking during the disbursement ceremony held in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kebbi State, Abubakar Kana Zuru, expressed gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for approving the funds as a gesture of goodwill during the festive period.

“The Governor’s commitment to the welfare of our communities has once again come to light,” Zuru said. “His dedication to improving the lives of our people is evident.”

“In total, 11,229 women were selected, three from each of the 3,743 polling units, and each received N30,000,” he added.

Zuru emphasized the integrity of the selection process, stating, “We ensured that no political leader, including myself, any commissioner, or public office holder, included their wives, sisters, or relatives. This initiative is solely for women at the grassroots level.”

“All political office holders have the means to support their families and close relations. That is why we directed this gesture specifically to women in need, so they can enjoy a joyful and fulfilling Sallah celebration,” he said.
