The people of Junju/Fada community in Birnin Kebbi, birthplace of the coalition-led African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader and former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, have distanced themselves from him and pledged their full support to Governor Nasir Idris.
The position of the community was made known during a solidarity visit to Governor Idris at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, a resident and Commissioner of Works, Abdullahi Muslim, said the people of the area, including youths, women, and elders, were united in their support for the governor.

“The governor has done a lot for us,” he said. “We are in control of our people, and they listen to us. Whatever we advise them to do, that is what they will do. We are here today to show our total support and disassociate ourselves from any new political movement.”
Earlier, Abubakar Shamaki and Abubakar Dangaladima, both prominent figures in the community, reiterated that the people of Junju/Fada were firmly behind Governor Idris and his second-term ambition.

“As our in-laws, we will not disappoint them,” they assured. “We will do everything within our means to ensure his continued success.”
The duo also advised the governor to be cautious of politicians who bring reports against others for personal gain.
“Whenever a politician reports another, we urge the governor to give both parties a fair hearing,” they said. “This will also allow the accused to present his side of the story and ensure justice.”

In his response, Governor Nasir Idris appreciated the show of solidarity and assured the community that more dividends of democracy were underway.
“We are committed to giving every citizen of Kebbi a sense of belonging,” he stated. “I appreciate those who organised this event and commend those who have left their former political parties to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue delivering impactful projects and inclusive governance across the state.
