
Mr Santos and FARC leader, Timoleon Jimenez, will be signing the historic peace deal later on Monday.
However, it might take a while for the Colombian society to recover from its over five decades of conflict.
In June 2016, the FARC signed a ceasefire accord with the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos in Havana.
On August 25, 2016, Mr Santos, announced that four years of negotiations had, secured a peace deal with FARC and that a national referendum would take place on October 2.
Although the final peace agreement will require a referendum, this accord has been seen as a historic step to ending the war that has gone on for fifty years
The FARC will be relaunched as a political party, as part of the deal which is due to be put to Colombian voters also on October 2.
