Eight persons have been killed after an attack in two villages Zanwah and Nchetachu, Maingo district in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The President of Irigwe Development Association, Robert Ashi, said that the attackers invaded the villages on Saturday, where four persons were killed and several injured.
He noted that four additional corpses were recovered from the bush today.
According to him, two persons are in critical conditions with gunshot wounds and might undergo an operation to remove the bullets in their abdomen.
Meanwhile, the police in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Gabriel Ubah said that the command received a report of a conflict between gunmen suspected to be Fulani militia and youths from Irigwe which led to the death of four natives with 50 houses burnt.
He further added that the commissioner after visiting the scene ordered investigations into the matter as normalcy has been restored in the area.
