Kingsley D. Uranta is the Assistant General Manager Operations of Channels Television, Lagos Nigeria with the responsibility of driving partnership, training and corporate communications
Part of his remit is the management of Channels Academy, a high breed media training institute set up by Channels Television to provide training for journalists and members of the larger society.
Kingsley was the first staff of Channels Incorporated Limited to be recruited in 1992 and rose to the position of Editor, Chief Correspondent, and Controller News. By 1996, Kingsley became the first staff of Channels Television to win the Nigeria Media Merit Award ‘Best Television Reporter Award.
A graduate of Mass Communication of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, and University of Port Harcourt, Kingsley has also undertaken media training at the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), School of Media and Communication Pan African University, Lagos. He was a member of the year 200 class of high level training in media management and journalism education instituted by the BBC World Service and the then United States Information Service (USIS).
