Olugbenga Ashiru

Gbenga Ashiru joined Channels Television in February 2011.

Gbenga holds a Bachelor in Arts degree in Philosophy from University of Ado-Ekiti and a Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Lagos State University .

He is eternally grateful to God and also thankful to the Management of Channels Television for the sojourn into Television Broadcasting after over a decade of successful Radio Programmes Production.

He is privileged to have produced and anchored quite a number of Programmes which include, ‘Network Africa’, ‘Vote 2011’, ‘World Today’ , ‘Politics Today’ , ‘Sun Rise Daily’, ‘Rethinking Nigeria’ , ‘Roadmap 2015’ and ‘Nigeria 2015’ .He currently anchors and produces ‘Question Time’.

Gbenga has also benefitted from the Deutse Welle Training on News writing and Reporting organised in conjunction with Channels Television.

His experience in Channels TV has also offered him opportunities in the diplomatic world in different capacities namely : Delegate at the African Union Summit Addis Ababa Ethiopia (2012 &2013 ), ECOWAS Observer Ghana and Mali Elections (2012&2013).
Observer ECOWAS Peace Keeping Mission in Liberia and Guines Bissau.
Delegate at the Pan African Parliament Midrand South Africa(2012&2013).
Delegate United Nations General Assembly , New York in 2013 and Journalist at the United Nations Security Council New York.

He is a BBC trained producer with training from Commonwealth Broadcasting Association UK alongside completing the Advanced Production Course at the Radio Nigeria training School.

He looks forward to more learning opportunities to sharpen his skills in broadcasting.
