EN Exclusive: Majek Fashek And 2Baba Team Up For New Collabo

Majek FashekMusic icon, Majek Fashek, is working hard at his resurgence in the Nigerian music industry, with various live performances and now new music projects, one of which is the collaboration with ‘African Queen’ crooner, 2Baba.

At different occasions, both atistes have expressed their special admiration for each other and have drreamt of working together.

Tu Baba had told Channels TV Entertainment about how he had been a fan of the raggae legend and had looked forward to remaking one of his hits.

Majek Fashek also told us, “For me to gain the confidence of young musicians like Davido, Tu Baba, Wizkid, Terry G, Olamide and Don Jazzy, I have to prove my sound first, then I can work with them later on.”

Finally, the two legends of two different generations hooked up to cook their first joint together and Channels TV got an exclusive access to the studio session with Majek Fashek and Tu Baba.

Majek, popularly known as the Rainmaker is also the producer of the new collaboration, a role he has not taken since producing for the Mandators and Ras Kimono. He says he is creating a new vibe.

Tu Baba did not hide his excitement at seeing his dream come true.

Music Legend, 2Face Idibia Turns 40

2FaceNigeria’s music legend, 2Face Innocent Ujah Idibia, has turned 40 on September 18.

With an enviable career and a source of inspiration to many, 2Face has churned out quality music contents and performances all over the world.

Born in Jos, Nigeria, Innocent Idibia attended Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State.

He hails from the Idoma ethnic group in the southern part of Benue State.

2face enrolled at Institute of Management & Technology, Enugu (IMT), where he did his Preliminary National Diploma course in Business Administration and Management.

While attending IMT, he performed at school organised shows and parties, as well as other regional schools such as the University of Nigeria and Enugu State University of Science & Technology.

Innocent Idibia eventually dropped out to pursue his music career. While attending IMT, he started composing and singing jingles at the GB Fan Club at Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS) in 1996. Also in 1996, he adopted the stage name “2Face” (Tuface).

In 2006, his song “African Queen” was used in the soundtrack for the film, Phat Girlz, which was released internationally.

2Face released a promotion album in 2008 called The Unstoppable, releasing the single “Enter the Place”. Problems with album distribution in 2007 caused a shift of the release date of the album from 2008 to early 2009.

In 2010, he released an “international edition” of the same album under the title; The Unstoppable International Edition, making him the first Nigerian artist to have an appropriately priced international album.

2face, however, released two more singles from the international version of his Unstoppable album.

The international edition of the album won two awards at the 2010 SoundCity Music Video Awards. He also won the Channel O Music Video Awards Best African Western award and the MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Male and Artist of the year.

2Face Stages Surprise 30th B’Day Homecoming For Annie

Superstar singer, 2Face threw his wife –  Annie – a surprise birthday welcome as she turned 30.

The “African Queen” crooner arranged a romantic birthday cake with champagne, candle lights and a gift on the floor of their home as she returned from a movie set, late Wednesday night.

Annie Idibia took to her instagram page to to share a picture.

2Face Shows Off Customised Diamond Encrusted Mic At Star Trek Finale

2FACE IDIBIA.JPG2Remember 2Face’s customized diamond encrusted microphone given to him by luxury designer Malivelihood? He performed with it for the first time on stage at Star Music Trek 2014 grand finale, which held at Eagles Club, Surulere on Saturday May 31, 2014.

After riveting performances from Star Music Trek 2014 debut edition in Nsukka through Makurdi, Umuahia and Orlu, 2Face pulled all the stops for his final performance in Lagos.

Dressed in royal regalia, he took fans through a live performance of various hit tracks including You No Holy Pass, African Queen, Outside amongst many others.

His wife Annie dressed in black sweatshirt and pants stood amongst fans and cheered throughout his performance.
