Super Eagles Will Fly Over Les Sao Of Chad – Keshi

super eagles Ahead of the African Nation’s Cup Qualifier match against Chad, Super Eagles Coach, Mr Stephen Keshi, has said he is optimistic that the re-branded Super Eagles will fly over Les Sao of Chad at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

In a media chat with sports journalists in Abuja, Keshi said that the players were rearing to go and the coaching crew were fully prepared to deliver the Nations Cup ticket to Nigerians.

Team Captain, Vincent Enyeama, who also fielded questions from journalists, said that the players are in high spirit and remain committed to ensuring that the Super Eagles return to their winning ways.

Speaking on the ongoing U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Keshi expressed the view that the Flying Eagles have the capacity to win the tournament.

”I don’t think there is any shaking because the team is not a bad team,” he said, adding that the team was already at an advantage.

APC Supporters Embark On Road Show In Kaduna

apcAhead of next Saturday’s presidential election, supporters of the All Progressives Congress  (APC) in Kaduna State, on Tuesday, embarked on a road show to drum support for the party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and the state governorship flag bearer, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

During the road show rally, the APC members expressed confidence that their party would be victorious in the coming elections and however vowed to occupy all over Nigeria if the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attempts to rig the elections.

They described the party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buahri and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as credible candidates adding that they are the”choice of Nigerians in the elections given their incorruptible stance”.

The road show, tagged ‘Walking for Change’, witnessed a large crowd of APC members in Kaduna State and the party’s governorship candidate, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, trekking from the Command junction in the southern part of the State capital to Kawo, in the northern zone.

Women, children and youth all trooped in large numbers, singing and dancing.

Walking slowly and patiently, the surging crowd passed through the popular Ahmadu Bello Stadium to Ali Akilu road, where they appealed to residents of the areas to vote for APC in next Saturday’s election and subsequent ones on April 11.

For the supporters, their decision to participate in the over ten kilometers walk was borne out of their desire for a positive change, which they claimed APC stands for.

The supporters however, said that their power is their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).

Police Avert Bomb Explosion in Kaduna

What could have been a deadly attack in the Kaduna state capital was averted on Friday evening following the prompt intervention of officers of the anti-bomb unit of the state police command who successfully defused a bomb hidden in a brand new computer.  

An eyewitness said suspected terrorists had concealed the high volume improvised explosive device in the computer and neatly planted it at a popular junction near Ahmadu Bello stadium in the city.

Confirming the incident to Channels Television, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Adenaike, explained that no casualty was recorded as the explosive device was professionally defused by his officers.

He commended the residents for their vigilance and providing information that led to the discovery of the bomb.
