A popular Nigerian artiste, Reminisce, says making good beats for songs is more important in in Nigeria than lyrical content of songs.
On a Channels Television’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds, on Sunday, Reminisce said that the development was as a result of the fact that Nigerians do not listen to songs to see if the lyrics are okay or not.
“Nigerians don’t research to know things about an artist. They don’t even read about an artiste. All they want is to dance and listen to the beat of a song.
“And they are the ones we want to satisfy so we give them what they like,” he said.
The artiste, who studied Purchasing and Supply at the Kwara State Polytechnic, stressed the need for education, saying he had to go to school at a point in his life.
He said that the Nigerian music industry was changing and that it was for good.
