PDP Alleges Forgery of Buhari Certificate

Buhari certificateThe PDP presidential campaign office says the documents said to have been released by the Government College Katsina as the results of the APC presidential candidate, are forged, manipulated and fraudulently procured.

Using an enlarged printout of the documents, the Director of Media showed what he said were clear indications of alterations and cancellations that questions the authenticity of the documents.

He said that the police and other security agencies should seek out the authors and masterminds of the forgery and prosecute them in accordance with the law.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, had on Wednesday, spoken to journalists about the controversy surrounding his primary and secondary school qualification.

Buhari Certificate: Army Deny Possession Of WASC

BuhariThe Nigerian Army has stated its side of the story following an affidavit sworn by General Buhari that all his academic credentials are with the Secretary, Military Board.

This statement came as the saga surrounding the academic qualification of the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammed Buhari (Rtd), continues.

According to the Nigerian Army, besides other qualifications obtained by the General while in service, it was not in possession of his West African School Certificate.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye, who said the army has been inundated with request for the General’s credentials, added that it was only in possession of a letter from the Principal of the Provincial Secondary School, Kastina, recommending Buhari as fit for military commissioning in 1960.

He said that the Army also have in its possessions Nigerian Army Form 199A where the General indicated after commissioning that he obtained credits in four subjects and a pass in another. However, it is not in possession of a certificate to prove same.

In the document passed around to journalists for sighting, the letter reads in part; “I recommend him fit for military commissioning, I consider that he will pass the WASC examination in English, Math and three other subjects.”

Buhari Responds To Certificate Controversy, Tags Allegation Desperate

BuhariThe All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, has broken his silence on the debate over his credentials.

Since the PDP raised alarm over the Buhari certificate issue, a rights’ group, the Integrity and Justice Initiative at a press conference have also challenged the candidate and INEC over the matter, alleging that the retired General had been silent over the matter.

“General Buhari as things stand, does not qualify to stand as a candidate for the February 14 presidential election, as he has failed to show proof that he has been educated up to school certificate level.

“Whilst his standing as a former military Head of State is not in doubt, we posit that as a nation governed by laws, any individual wishing to be President of Nigeria in this democratic dispensation must comply fully with the provisions of the 1999 constitution,” the group said.

General Buhari, however, spoke to Channels Television on the issue.

“I have contested elections three times and that’s the same rule by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where there is basic education qualification that you have and I was allowed to contest all these election because my certificate was in order.

“There are even individuals that wrote to the United States War College and the College answered them and its published in some of your papers .

“Really, this desperation of disinformation that is being passed around will do nobody any good because our minds are being taken away from the serial issues of corruption and incompetence by the PDP.”
