Kano Pillars Defender, Chinedu Udoji Is Dead

 

Kano Pillars have confirmed the death of their defender, Chinedu Udoji.

Udoji, 28, was involved in a car accident on Sunday night while returning from visiting his former teammates at Enyimba, after the 1-1 draw against Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The incident occurred along the club road in Kano state.

Udoji spent five seasons at Enyimba and captained the team for five years from 2009 -2016, helping the club to win two league titles, 2 Federation cups and reaching the semi-final of the CAF Champions League.

He joined the Kano Pillars in 2016.

Sunshine Stars Defeat Rivers United In NPFL ClashTroubled Sunshine Stars put aside their financial crisis to beat high-flying Rivers United 1-0 on Sunday.

The Ondo-based club clinched the victory in a match day 10 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the Akure Township Stadium.

Former Enyimba Midfielder, Ayo Saka, pulled a belter from 14 yards to hand the Owena Waves their win of the season.

The result moved Sunshine Stars six places to the 11th position with 12 points on the table.

Meanwhile, Prince Aggreh scored from the penalty spot as FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeated league leaders, Plateau United 1-0 in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Chinedu Udoji’s first-half header also earned Kano Pillars a lone victory over neighbours, Katsina United.

In a similar development, Lobi Stars came from behind to beat seven-time champions, Enyimba with goals from Anthony Okpotu and former Enyimba Midfielder, David Tyavkase.

Niger Tornadoes maintained a perfect home record after a 1-0 win over struggling Gombe United in Lokoja.

El-Kanemi warriors also stunned Nasarawa United 2-0  with two second half goals while ABS FC edged past Wikki Tourists 1-0.

Enyimba Confident Of Top Finish In Super 4

npfl-enyimbaEnyimba captain, Chinedu Udoji, is confident the NPFL champions are very much in the race to win the Super 4 tournament in Uyo.

The People’s Elephant are third on the log on seven points, one point behind leaders, Akwa United, after two matches.

The Nigerian champions were beaten 2-1 by Nasarawa United on Wednesday’s match clash in Uyo.

The NPFL Super 4 contest will come to an end on Friday with Enyimba facing the home side, Akwa United, while Warri Wolves tackle Nasarawa United.
