“Chocolate City Is Doing Well, Not Imploding”- Dice Ailes

Following the exit of ice-prince and rapper, Milli, from the group Chocolate City, the ‘Telephone’ singer told Channels Television that they left amicably and nevertheless, still maintained a good relationship with the record label.

“We’re doing well at Chocolate City, I think it’s just growth. People are pretty much growing and evolving into new things. Ice-prince left but he’s still a part of the family.

“Everybody is doing their own individual thing but we’re still a collective family at the end of the day,” he said.

Highlighting the progress of his career in Nigeria, the performing artiste talked about his latest single, ‘Machinery’. “It is doing pretty well… really accepted by the streets”.

He also mentioned that his new single, ‘Miracle’, featuring Lil Kesh, would drop sometime between late August and early September.

Although, he started performing in Canada, until he was introduced to the Nigerian mainstream music in 2014 by the Chocolate City label, the artist said it was not much of a task.

He has,however, switched his style, to the dominant Nigerian hip-hop, because according to him, he grew up in a typical Nigerian home and listened to typical Nigerian music.

“I like to believe that I’m a very versatile artist. I can band however I choose. So it wasn’t really much of a task.

“I just knew that the Nigerian commercial market wanted to hear a certain thing and I gave it to them with ‘Machinery’,” he said.

Ice Prince Set To Float New Label

Ice Prince, Korede BelloRapper, Ice Prince is getting set to float a record label, Super Cool Cats.

The ‘Oleku’ crooner, made the announcement on Thursday, revealing he is no longer signed to Chocolate City Music, as his contract expired two years ago.

The singer also released a new song, Chike, featuring Mavin Records star, Korede Bello.

The song was produced by C Kay.

Chocolate City’s Ailes Drops Visuals To Machinery

AilesMulti-talented Chocolate City artiste, Dice Ailes, has dropped the visuals to his newly released single ‘Machinery’.

The much anticipated video shot on different locations in Lagos, southwest Nigeria was directed by Visionnaire Pictures.

DNA Test: Femi Kuti Confirms Children’s Paternity Discovery

Fami_KutiAfrobeat Maestro, Femi Kuti, has spoken out on the much publicised paternity test that proved that his two children were not actually his.

the publication had gone viral last week, leaving Nigerians with thoughts running wild.

In an interview with Channels Television’s entertainment correspondent, Femi Kuti explained what led to the test.

The son of late Fela Kuti, however, said that the incident was not a recent one but something that had happened eight years ago.

He, however, did not give the name of the woman involved, as he kept referring to her as his girlfriend.

“They wrote it as if it happened yesterday so that I will feel very sad. Do i look Sad to yo? Even then i was not even sad.

“It happened eight years ago. One of my girlfriends was talking on the phone with one of her lovers and I entered the room took the phone and discovered she was talking to a lover.

“And there was already a rumour in the Shrine that one of my children does not look like me and my sister advised me to address the issue. For security reasons and for the sake of the family, I took all my children for a DNA test and I found out that two were not my children,” he said.

Femi Kuti’s management team, Chocolate City, had earlier released an official statement, addressing the rumours about him carrying out a recent DNA test on his children.

In the statement, the group admitted that it was true but said that it was an excerpt from an interview that Femi Kuti granted some eight years ago.

The group stated that during the interview, Femi spoke on the identity of five of his children and then revealed that two of these 5 children were not his and that he had since making this discovery returned the children.

I Didn’t Snub Globacom – Ice Prince

Aboki crooner and popular musician Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince has reacted to the Globacom endorsement rumor which went viral last week on different social media platforms.

According to the speculations, Ice Prince allegedly turned down a N100 Million contract offered by Glo to sign on as a Glo Ambassador. According to the story which made the rounds, Ice Price demanded for $1 Million or No Deal.

The Chocolate City management has released a statement disregarding the rumors.

“We were just as surprised as anybody when we read the news of Ice Prince “purportedly” turning down “the offer” , especially since it isn’t true,” said Tobi Sanni-Daniel, Ice Prince’s business manager.

“Globacom is a multi-national company with an excellent track record of delivering quality. Any individual would be proud and honoured to be associated with them.

“However to say that we have turned down an endorsement deal is false and completely baseless.”

Ice Prince has recently been busy in the studio as he gears towards a highly anticipated album later in the year. He has released a remix to the hugely successful ‘Aboki’ as well as released a video for ‘Truth’ which has already gone viral.

Recently Ice Prince released the remix to his Aboki hit single, which featured Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, M.I, Sarkodie and Wizkid.

Exclusive: Songstress Waje on the brink of joining Chocolate City

Channels Entertainment has learnt that award winning singer Waje is close to completing a recording contract with leading music imprint Chocolate City.

According to multiple sources from within the music group, it is only a matter of both parties dotting the ‘I’s and crossing the ‘T’s on the contract papers.

“It has been on for a while now,” a source told Channels Television’s entertainment correspondent.

“An announcement will be made very soon maybe before the end of June,” the source affirms.

However, Mary Ero, General Manager Chocolate City Group will neither confirm nor deny the story.

She maintains that the music imprint has not put out any message as concerns the issue.

Efforts to get the Waje, real name Aituaje Iruobe, to comment is yet to be fruitful.

Meet MI’s new squad

Few years after rising to the pinnacle of Nigerian Hip-Hop music, foremost Chocolate City rapper, MI, is hoping to replicate his success formula on the rock group Threadstone from his home city Jos.

Still maintaining an executive position in Chocolate City, the multiple award winning rapper is now peddling an on-the-side music imprint, Loopy Music, on which he has signed on this rock trio, Threadstone.
