Bale Returns To Real Madrid Squad After Ankle Injury

Gareth Bale, Real Madrid, EspanyolReal Madrid Forward, Gareth Bale, is set to return from an ankle injury as  the Spanish giants host Espanyol on Saturday.

The 27-year-old had been sidelined since he underwent a surgery on the ankle tendon damage he suffered during a Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon in November 2016.

He also missed the midweek win over Napoli in the Champions League because of match fitness.

However, Coach Zinedine Zidane has listed Bale in his squad as they take on Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Wenger Denies End To Coaching Job, Considering New Arsenal Offer

The Frenchman stated that he has no intention of retiring, even if it means managing another club.

His position has been under intense scrutiny, after the Gunners lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich in Wednesday’s Champions League clash.

Wenger, however, maintained that the ongoing season would not be his last in managing the North London side.

While his contract with the Gunners will expire in the summer, the 67-year-old said he is undecided on whether he would take up the two-year deal which has been offered to him by the Arsenal Board.

Federer Celebrates Australian Open Victory

Roger Federer,The Australian Open champion, Roger Federer, has celebrated his ‘fairy-tale’ victory and his 18th Grand Slam title at the men’s Australian Tennis Open championship trophy in Melbourne.

The 35-year-old stayed at Melbourne Park until the early hours of Monday before returning to his hotel.

In an interview, the Champion said:

“It was a long night, but a lot of fun. Everybody was in such a good mood — it was a special day, a special couple of weeks.

“We celebrated in a great way, being silly, having fun, chatting about everything. All the stress went away.

Federer has climbed to 10th in the rankings after his win and says it was his self-belief when he had been trailing 3-1 in the final set that had helped him to victory.

He has won his first Grand Slam title in five years on Sunday, defeating Rafael Nadal in a five-set final, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

FalconsSuper Falcons caretaker coach, Florence Omagbemi, has called to camp 40 players ahead of the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifier.

Top on the list of invited players include; Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Francisca Ordega, Onome Ebi, Ngozi Ebere, Halimatu Ayinde, Ngozi Okobi, Evelyn Nwabuoku and Joy Bokiri.

The seven-time African champions were drawn into the second round of the qualifying series, with the final competition to hold in Cameroon in November.

Senegal and Guinea will contend over two legs in March, with the winner to battle the Super Falcons in home-and-away contests between April 4 and 12.
