Italy Knock Zambia Out Of FIFA U-20 World Cup

FIFA ranking, Super EaglesAfrica’s remaining representatives at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, Zambia have crashed out at the quarter-final of the tournament in the Republic of Korea.

The 10-man Italian side beat Zambia 3-2 on Monday after extra-time in a thrilling encounter to advance to the semi-final.

With the game tied two all, an extra-time was needed to separate both sides.

In the 110th minute, two substitutes combined to score the winning goal as Federico Dimarco’s corner kick found Luca Vido, eight yards from goal.

Vido headed in from close range to send the Italians to their first ever Under-20 World Cup semi-final.

Joshua Enaholo Joins Enyimba

enaholoFlying Eagles Goalkeeper, Joshua Enaholo, has joined Nigeria Professional Football League side, Eyimba FC, from lower division side, MFM.

Enaholo, who was in goal for Nigeria during the 2015 African Youth Championship and the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, has been cleared by his club to make the move to the Aba Elephants.

Enaholo was also in goal for the Flying Eagles when the team defeated Enyimba 2-0 during the Super Six invitational in Abuja.

Enaholo’s arrival has increased the number of goalkeepers at Enyimba and will equally boost competition in goal as club coach, Kadiri Ikhana, seeks an unprecedented seventh title.

Under 20 World Cup: Nigeria Thrashes Cuba 3-0

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria bounced back from their loss in their first match at the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Turkey with a well-deserved 3-nil victory over north American representatives Cuba.

Aminu Umar gave Nigeria the lead in the 19th minute after some good work down the left flank from Olanrewaju Kayode who cut the ball back for him to tap in.

Umar was on hand again to score the second with a back heel after a cross from the right was smartly turned in 23rd minute

Team captain Abdul-Jelil Ajagun scored the third in the 65th minute but was unable to extend Nigeria’s lead after missing a penalty in the dying moments of the match.
