Police Uncover Kidnappers Den In Ogun State

Police, PSCThe Ogun State Police Command has uncovered a shrine allegedly being used by kidnappers and fraudsters for  fake currencies production at Ponkuku village in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria

Some members of the public have been disposed of their valuables by four members of a gang who operate the shrine.

A middle aged man has, however, been arrested by the police in connection with the shrine, just as the state police boss has vowed to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang and prosecute them accordingly

The State Commissioner of Police, Hammed Iliyasu, led the operation to the shrine.

He, however, warned the public to be wary of the antics of these men, promising that fleeing members of the group would be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly

To effectively contain these criminal activities across the state the commissioner of police asked for collaboration, understanding and useful information from residents

New Police Commissioner Pledges Safer Ogun State

Police, Ogun State, Hammed Iliyasu, Abdulmajid AliThe new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Hammed Iliyasu, has promised a paradigm shift in the way security of life and property is being handled in the state.

Mr Iliyasu made the pledge in his address to staff of the Ogun State Police Command when he assumed duty in Abeokuta, state capital in southwest Nigeria.

He solicited for better understanding between the Police and other security agencies operating in the state.

Before his appointment as Ogun CP, Iliyasu was the Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College, Jos.

He replaced the former Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, who has been promoted and is now the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, which comprises of Lagos and Ogun states.

Meanwhile AIG Ali has also given his road map for the security of both states, especially in the face of the recent suspected militants’ invasion of some communities in the state.
