Tuface Tops MTV Base Chart

Popular musician Innocent Idibia also known as Tuface Idibia has ranked top place in the inaugural chart with his hit single Ihe Neme.

Close on 2Face’s heels were P-Square with “Alingo” while Ice Prince’s “More” clocked in at number 3. Other artists featuring in the top 10 included Banky W., Iyanya, Burna Boy and the late Goldie, with “Skibobo”.

Every week, The Official Naija Chart is decided by a panel of Nigerian broadcasters and music specialists .

As of the second episode, Bella Naija music editor Onos Ariyo will be joining DJ Jimmy Jatt, Cool FM’s DJ Xclusive, DJ Humility and Big Time(Rhythm FM), DJ Case and Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge (Nigerian Entertainment Today) on the judging panel.

Uduaghan Honours Fellow Doctors with Kukere Dance

The banquet organised by the Delta State Government for medicals doctors at the just concluded doctors summit in Delta State sure had so much to give as the state Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan revealed that he isn’t just about the running of the oil rich state but can also be a great dancer.

The trained medical doctor was joined by another of his professional peer turned politician, Dr. Chris Ngige, as they both dazzled fellow doctors with swift dance steps with Iyanya’s hit track Kukere.

Akon, Hugh Masekela to grace Calabar Festival

Barely a week to the commencement of the Calabar festival, the SA event Management, Cross River State, Mr Nzan Ugbe has released the itinerary for the 31 days event.

The S.A. events management of Cross River state; Mr. Nzan ugbe has reeled out the itinerary for the Calabar Festival; a 31-day event which will kick-start on Friday,

According to him, topping the list of the list of international and local musicians expected to perform at the event are R & B and hip hop recording artist, Akon and legendary South African trumpeter, composer and singer, Hugh Masekela at the 2012 Calabar Festival.

Akon who owns and manages two successful record labels, convict Muzik and Kon Live Distribution, will be performing at the festival for a second time.

Nigeria’s biggest music stars such as 2 Face, MI, Ice Prince, P-Square, Wizkid, J Martins and Naeto C are also billed to perform during the 31 – day event.

Other local acts include Timaya, Duncan Mighty, Ruggedman, Wande Coal, Iyanya, Nigg a Raw,Flavour and the Azonto exponent, Sakordie from Ghana.

Speaking Music Genres, Jazz music lovers have also been catered for by the organizers of the Festival they lined up Jonathan Butler, Kunle Ayo and Moses Philips to perform at the Jazz in Paradise segment of the festival.

Comedians have also been invited to be part of the event to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.

The list includes I Go Die,Klint de Drunk, Shirman, Julius Agwu, Gordons, Akpororo, MC Mbakara, Prof. Aboki, White Nigerian, Last Prophet,  Headmaster, Whokes and Robert Ekpo.

For the Calabar praise Night, the list of artists is no less impressive as respected acts like Sammy Okposo,Hope Davies, Sinach, Sabina, Ohen de prophet, Kingsley Agbor and Godswill Daniel.

The festival will also witness the commissioning of a cinema, where the movie; streets of Calabar will premiere.

There will also be the Festival of Arts and Craft, golf and football matches, the selection of a new Calabar Carnival Queen and the Green concert among other new additions to the yearly event.
