Funke Akindele, Husband Welcome Set Of Twins


Actress, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa has reportedly welcomed a set of twins with her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skills.

The news went viral on social media on Saturday morning after the actress shared some posts expressing gratitude to God.

The exact reason was, however, not disclosed.

She wrote, “Thank you Lord. Oluwa e tobi (God is great), Mo je oruko titun (I am now being called a new name).”

Congratulatory messages have continued to pour in from fans, close friends and family of the couple.

Funke and her husband got married in 2016 and the newborn would be their first together, although Bello has other children from a previous relationship.

Some of those sharing in the joy of the couple include media mogul, Mo Abudu, On Air Personality, Toke Makinwa and actress, Mercy Aigbe.

Funke Akindele, Stephanie Linus’ New Reality TV Shows In The Works

Funke Akindele -Stephanie LinusNollywood super stars, Funke Akindele – who rose to unending fame after her “Jenifa” movies hit screens nationwide and Stephanie Linus, who has been a screen diva for many years, are both working on new projects.

Channels TV’s Entertainment News correspondent – Mayowa Ogundele – can confirm that the two actors are working on Reality TV shows.

Funke Akindele, who attended the Genevieve Pink Ball fundraiser over the weekend, stunned in a Jovani earth-tone dress, with pink accessories to fit the “pink” theme of the party.

Asked what fans should expect as 2014 winds down, Funke Akindele dished about her new TV series, called “Jenifa’s Diary”, which has started filming. So for fans expecting another Jenifa movie, sorry!

“The Reality Show is just in pre-production” she said, adding that fans should expect a new movie by December.

As far as we know, the movie would speak against stigmatisation of those living with HIV/AIDS.

“I’m very passionate about people not stigmatising people living with HIV/AIDS… We want to say a big no to stigmatisation of people living with HIV/AIDS,” she said.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Linus, who had a dream location wedding in 2012 and never fails to gush about her husband, is out for young couples and wants to help them “have a fabulous time with one another”, with her own show.

If you guessed that “Make Me Fabulous” would be a great name for the show, you guessed right!

Her movie, Dry, will also go through a private screening in Wales, United Kingdom and should be released soon.

Asides that, Stephanie is working on a few movie projects, which are still under wraps, as well as a perfume line.

Funke Akindele’s ‘Jenifa’ Coming Back To Cinemas

There are strong indications that the comic character, Jenifa, created by comedienne Funke Akindele is about to hit the big screens again. Although the creator of the character refused to confirm or deny this, UK based singer, JJC skillz revealed to Channels Television that Jenifa is actually coming back.

Also, Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo beat four other Nigerian actresses including Nse Ikpe-Etim, Rita Dominic to the ‘Best African Collaboration’ prize at the 2013 edition of the Ghana Movie Awards. Ozokwo won the award for her role in the movie ‘Slave Boy‘.

Other big winners of the night were Jackie Appiah who beat Yvonne Nelson and Yvonne Okoro to win the ‘Best Actress‘ and John Dumelo who beat Majid Michel to win the ‘Best Actor‘ award.

Kunle Afolayan’s yet to be released film, October First, has started winning awards even before its premiere date. The highly anticipated movie won the award for ‘Best Fiction Trailer’ at the International Movie Trailer Festival.

‘October First’ was filmed in 2013 and features Afolayan himself, Sadiq Daba, Deola Sagoe, Ibrahim Chatta, David Bailey, Kehinde Bankole and many others.

Jenifa goes to Jamaica

The very popular Jenifa movie is about to get yet another sequel that will entail the international exploits of Jenifa in Jamaica and the United States of America.

Funke Akindele-Oloyede, the producer and actress of the famed Jenifa role, has revealed exclusively to Channels Television that another sequel to the Jenifa movie franchise will soon be out and it will be about the trip of her alter ego to Jamaica and New York.

The actress made this known on our weekend breakfast show; Sunrise, where she was the Artiste of the week.

Jenifa, a very successful movie about the plight and antics of a village girl schooling in a major city will have the fourth sequel which will be about Jenifa’s international exploit.

According to her, the movie was shot in Caribbean Island of Jamaica and in New York.

She also revealed that another TV series titled ‘Season 3’ will also hit the airwaves soon and the shooting of the series will commence in a few months.

While answering questions on the show, Funke revealed her series of inspiration for the story Jenifa and how everyday conversations of ordinary Nigerians were the source of the now famous slang and cliches used in the movie.

The newly wedded actress also spoke about how she’s slowed down her acting pace to give room for the home front and how she’s setting up a school of drama to help upcoming actors to hone their skill with requisite training.

She also went back to narrate how her acting career began, playing the teenage role in the TV series “I Need to Know”, when she was way ahead of her teen ages.

Funke Akindele to walk down the aisle

It appears that ace actress cum movie producer, Funke Akindele aka Jenifa has finally found her Mr right.

For those of you that would love to attend, their  engagement ceremony will hold May 26th 2012 in Lagos, while the  wedding proper will hold in December.

In an interview wit, Funke Akindele’s manager confirmed the news saying “the actress will indeed be getting married this year but that of ‘May 26 is only a family-traditional introduction. We however want it to be as private as possible”

There are unconfirmed reports that the 35-year-old bachelorette is engaged to a politician.

Akindele who has had a very successful career so far with her movies especially ‘The Return of Jenifa’ recently bagged two of the ZUMA films awards.



Nollywood promising producer dies

One of the directors and co-writer that produced the hit movie Jenifa alongside with Funke Akindele, Taiwo Bello is dead.

Taiwo has been bed-ridding for months after being diagnosed of Cancer.

He is survived by wife and children.

He has been buried according to Muslim burial rights.
