Nigerian singer, Muyiwa Osinuga, better known as Mr NoMoreLoss is set to make a comeback to mainstream music with an album titled ‘Beautiful Things’ on June 2nd.
The ‘Iyawo Asiko’ crooner, who recently signed a management deal with Tate Music Group, has not released a new recording for some years. He told Entertainment News on Channels Television that the absence was deliberate.
“I’ve been in and out of Nigeria trying to make sure that when we eventually drop it (this time), we can properly harness the benefits of it,” he said, noting that distribution was a major challenge in the industry.
“So much free music, nobody wants to actually pay for physical CDs”, he complained, but quickly added that “it’s not like they can’t pay for physical CDs, they just don’t know where to get the original copies. Everybody is forced to buy the pirated copy.”
Mr NoMoreLoss is looking to sell his music even outside Nigeria.
“I’m a very old-school type of guy. What you would call a timeless classic. I love to create music that is not just for the now but music you can play 10 years from now,” said the singer whose 13 year old song, Iyawo Asiko, remains a classic.
Speaking on his new work, Mr NoMoreLoss said on “June 2, the album drops globally on Tate Music Group”, a U.S based label he recently signed to.
The album titled ‘Beautiful Things’ is all about positivity, love and reflects the ‘happy place’ the singer now finds himself in.
“Beautiful Things is a summation of the happiness and the joy that I feel with music”, however, there would be no collaborations on the album.
“Maybe there will be a remix album of the same album,” he said.
He’s also working on an 5 track EP which is expected to hit the market “sometime in July 2nd”.
