The CAF B-Licence Coaching Course organised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has ended in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training, Chairman of the League Management Company, Mr Shehu Dikko, tasked participants to be willing to invest in learning new trends and technological innovations in the game.
He also challenged Nigerian coaches to always support one another, especially when any of them is appointed into the national teams.
A total of 75 participants on Friday collected certificates of participation in the conference room of the NFF/FIFA Technical Centre at the National Stadium Complex.
Those who participated include former Nigerian midfielder, Garba Lawal, as well as Nigerian Professional Football League coaches, Fidelis Ilechukwu of MFM FC, and Kabiru Dogo of Nasarawa United.
Nigerian midfielder, Abdullahi Shehu, has scored his first goal for Portuguese side, Madeira, in a 3-nil thumping of Nacional in the Portuguese top-flight.
The goal is Shehu’s first in the Liga NOS since his summer switch from Kuwaiti side, Al Qadsia.
The former Kano Pillars midfielder set Madeira on their way with the opening goal in the 30th minute of the game.
Abdullahi has been able to cement his place in the Madeira side after initial struggles and has been involved in 12 straight matches.
A football club in United States, Houston Dynamo, has announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder, Rasheed Olabiyi from Enyimba International Football Club of Aba for an undisclosed fee.
The central midfielder has represented Nigeria at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels.
He was a member of Enyimba’s 2010 Premier League winning team and also won three FA Cups in 2009, 2013, 2014 and two Nigeria Super Cups in 2010 and 2013.
Dynamo’s Vice President/General Manager, Matt Jordan, expressed his pleasure to welcome Rasheed to Houston Dynamo, saying “he’s been training with us and has integrated well within our group. We look forward to seeing him continue to grow in our environment and contribute to the success of the team as we begin the second half of our season”.
