President Muhammadu Buhari has commended President Jose Mario Vaz and the people of Guinea-Bissau for the peaceful resolution on the recent political crisis that left the country without a government for 37 days.
The president also applauded the laudable role played in the resolution of the crisis by his Special Envoy, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who was also adopted by ECOWAS as the regional body’s Special Envoy on the political dispute in Guinea-Bissau.
President Buhari while welcoming President Jose Mario Vaz’s acceptance of solution to the recent political crisis proffered by Chief Obasanjo, he also congratulates Mr. Carlos Correia on his emergence as the new Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau.
He has advised all stakeholders in the development and progress of Guinea-Bissau to desist from any further actions that can jeopardize the stability of the country and its democratic future.
Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has assured residents of the state of a better 2015, saying that their support for his administration, policies and programme would go a long way in ensuring the success of the his developmental initiatives in the new year.
He made this known at Ibogu, Ifo Local Government Area of the state during the Ibogun Olaogun day celebration attended by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Taofeek Arapaja, traditional rulers, sons and daughters of the ancient village.
The former Oyo State Deputy Governor, who was also a guest at the celebration, asked politicians in the country to play by the rules of the game just as he commended the developmental strides in Ogun State.
Addressing his kinsmen in his mother tongue, former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, challenged them to always “come home” in times like the Yuletide to contribute their quota to the development of their state and community in particular.
