Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has reassured residents of the state of his administration’s resolve to pursue purposeful leadership and good governance.
Governor Amosun said the resolution also included rebuilding the socio-economic fortunes of the state in order to bring to fruition the dreams of the state’s founding fathers.
He made the remarks on Wednesday in Abeokuta, at the sendforth ceremony for the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Olusola Adeyemi.
Mr Adeyemi, who was bowing out after 35 years in service of the state, was celebrated with 16 other permanent secretaries in the state in southwest Nigeria.
The governor used the occasion to urge the support, cooperation and understanding of the state workforce in the discharge of government programmes and policies.
The outgoing Head of Service, in his remarks, thanked Governor Amosun for giving him the opportunity to serve the state.
He commended the development strides of the governor and asked those in service to remain loyal to the government.
The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has sworn in Mr Olusola Adeyemi as the new Head of Service of the state.
Governor Amosun urged Mr Adeyemi to use his wealth of experience to transform the state’s civil service for prompt and effective service delivery.
At a ceremony held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, the state’s capital on Monday, the Governor also asked the state workforce to rededicate themselves to the service of the state and bring to fruition the aims of the state’s founding fathers.
He further advised the new Head of Service not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state.
In his speech, Mr Adeyemi, promised to mobilise the state workforce for optimal performance and realisation of the rebuilding mission of the administration in the state.
Mr Adeyemi replaced the immediate past Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Adekunle, who retired in September.
Born November 1957, Adeyemi is the 15th Head of Service of the state. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
