Some electricity consumers in Abia State southwest Nigeria have expressed their displeasure over the planned tariff increase.
This is because of the purported high bills given to them by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, which they said vary on a monthly basis.
One of the electricity consumers, Gloria Abiakam, said that the bill could sometimes amount to 79,000 Naira which they were forced to pay for, even when the lights were not available to them to use.
They urged those in authority to reverse the trend, saying it was affecting the masses.
The consumers also called on the Federal government to make the prepaid meters available.
