It was a full house at a dinner organised by the institute of directors for the induction of new fellows.
With a membership of over 3500, the occasion was to induct members of the institution to top echelons of its membership cadre, as distinguished, honorary and regular fellows.
The evening was graced by industry captains, entrepreneurs, and young business leaders.
The Institute of Directors Nigeria, (IOD Nigeria), is a Professional institute which promotes directors, develops corporate governance, enhances the economy for business development, and provides services to its membership.
With a minimum of 10 years of experience which qualifies a member for this fellowship awards, a total of 27 members were found worthy for the honour, and this is also as a result of the commitment to the institution and the nation at large.
The Lagos state governor was ably represented by the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Mr Rotimi Ogunleye, who commended the work of the institution.
The Managing Director of Shell, Mr Mutui Sumonu, who was a guest speaker at the occasion, spoke on the topic ‘Boardroom 101 Refresher’ and shortly after that, the distinguished members took the oath and proceeded to be inducted.
Among some of the distinguished members were; the former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Minister for Health, Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi; Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceutical, Dr Stella Okoli and former Executive Director of NTA, Barrister Grace Egbagbe.
Also present was the Group Managing Director of FBN Holdings, Mr Uk Eke and the Pro-Chancellor of University Of Ibadan, Umaru Musa Mustafa.
The institute called on its members to continue to uphold the standard set by the institute, as it hopes to continue to live up to expectations.
