Trey Songz Arrested After Assault On Detroit Cop

Trey Songz, Detroit, Tremaine NeversonAmerican songwriter Tremaine Neverson, who is better known as Trey Songz, will be ending 2016 with some legal issues.

The R&B singer was arrested on Wednesday night when he refused to leave the stage at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

He was performing at the fourth annual Big Show at the Joe alongside other artistes, including Young M.A. and Lil Yachty.

Sources revealed that the 32-year-old threw objects and attempted to break equipment in an “upset and belligerent” manner, when organisers of the event informed him that his time onstage was over.

While police officers at the event came on to remove him from stage, Songz purportedly continued to throw objects, one of which hit a cop.

Tiwa Savage, Davido, Flavour, Others Shine At MAMAs

Tiwa MAMABig names in Nigeria’s music industry, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Clarence Peters, Flavour won awards at the just concluded MTV Africa Music Awards which held on Saturday, in Durban, South Africa.

Other stars including Don Jazzy, D’Banj, Ice Prince, Burna Boy, Dr Sid, Sauti Sol, Fally Ipupa, Sarkodie, French Montana, Miguel, Trey Songz, Mafikizolo, Oskido, Phyno and Yuri da Cunha, gave awesome performances at the Durban’s International Conference Centre.

While South African duo, Mafikizolo won in the Best Group and Song of The Year categories, Davido took home two awards, for Best Male and Artist of the Year.

Tiwa Savage, Clarence Peters, Flavour went away with one award each.

Wizkid set to perform alongside Trey Songz and others at the BBC Radio 1xtra

Fast rising star Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid will be performing alongside RnB singer Trey Songz, Angel and Kendrick Lamar on Nov 12 at the BBC radio 1xtra.

This was confirmed by one of the anchors of the event, Mista Jam when he made the announcement on BBC Radio that the EME star will be performing at the BBC radio 1xtra show.

This is not the first time the event will be hosting other Nigerian artistes, as it is well known amongst music and entertainment lovers.

Another host of the event Charlie Sloth who is a radio DJ, has been spreading the word about BBC Radio 1xtra event  in each of the cities.

 

R. Kelly makes Soul Train Awards’ history as most nominated artist

R. Kelly is nominated for two awards at this year’s Soul Train Awards, making him the most nominated act ever at the awards show.

R. Kelly is up for the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award and album of the year, bringing his career total to 21 nominations.

Usher leads this year’s awards with five nominations. Estelle, Nas, Trey Songz and John Legend are also multiple nominees.

Whitney Houston is nominated for best gospel inspirational performance and Amy Winehouse is nominated for best international performance. New Edition will receive a lifetime achievement award.

The Soul Train Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will be taped 8 November at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The show will air on 25 November on BET and Centric.
