Performers At Grammys 2015 Are…

GrammysThe melancholic singer of ‘In The Lonely Hour’, Sam Smith and the “Happy” Williams Pharrell have been announced as some of the artistes to perform at the Grammys, next month.

The Recording Academy announced Wednesday , that Usher and Miranda Lambert also will take the stage at the Feb. 8 show in Los Angeles, while Common and John Legend will perform their Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated song, “Glory,” from the movie “Selma.”

Smith, Pharrell and Beyonce are the Grammy leaders with six nominations apiece. They will battle Beck and Ed Sheeran for the top prize, Album of the Year.

More stars have been announced as performers for the night and it looks like it is going to be a full house with Sam Smith, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, Miranda Lambert, Usher, Ariana Grande, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Eric Church and many more.

Nicki Minaj To Perform At MTV Video Music Awards

nicki-minajMTV Base has announced Grammy Award-nominated superstar, Nicki Minaj, to grace the 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” stage at the forthcoming event which would take place at the Forum, Inglewood, California on Sunday, August 24.

The hip-hop queen would perform her alluring new hit single “Anaconda” for the first time, from her new album – The Pink Print, due to be released later in the year.

Nicki Minaj, who would be joining previously announced performers like Beyoncé, Usher, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, Maroon 5 and 5 Seconds of Summer, is said to be very excited about the upcoming performance.

“The VMA’s is a pretty big deal so people go all out for it,” said Nicki Minaj. “I am very, very excited and looking forward to the performance.”

Nominees for a new socially voted category, ‘Best Lyric Video’ would be announced at a later date on vma.mtv.com.

 

 

 

 

Beyoncé To Receive Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award

MTV Base announced on Thursday, August 7,  that global international sensation, Beyoncé, would receive the legendary Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyoncé, who leads the pack this year with eight VMA nominations, will be presented with the highly coveted Video Vanguard Award, joining a prestigious list of past recipients including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and JustinTimberlake.

Mrs Carter’s triumphant return to the MTV VMA stage marks her fourth time performing on the loudest, most influential annual live celebration of music in the world.

The event, which will take place in Inglewood, California, on Sunday August 24, would also have previously announced 2014 “MTV Video Music Award” performers like Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5.

Additional performers and presenters would be announced on a later date.

Katy Perry, Usher Perform At Kids Inaugural Concert

Award winning singer Usher and American Pop Singer Katy Perry on Saturday performed at the Kids Inaugural Concert in Washington.

The event was hosted by the first lady Michelle Obama and the vice president’s wife Jill Biden, the concert was in honor of military families and their children.

Katy Perry performed several songs in a patriotic red, white and blue outfit, while pop star Usher started off the evening with his hit song “Yeah”.

Other acts included Far East Movement, Mindless Behavior, and iLuminate which performed a glow stick dance to The Wanted’s Glad You Came.

R. Kelly makes Soul Train Awards’ history as most nominated artist

R. Kelly is nominated for two awards at this year’s Soul Train Awards, making him the most nominated act ever at the awards show.

R. Kelly is up for the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award and album of the year, bringing his career total to 21 nominations.

Usher leads this year’s awards with five nominations. Estelle, Nas, Trey Songz and John Legend are also multiple nominees.

Whitney Houston is nominated for best gospel inspirational performance and Amy Winehouse is nominated for best international performance. New Edition will receive a lifetime achievement award.

The Soul Train Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will be taped 8 November at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The show will air on 25 November on BET and Centric.

Usher’s 11 year old son declared brain dead after accident

Things went bad for Kyle Glover Usher’s 11 year old stepson, after a tragic accident left the youngster in a critical condition.

The youngster was declared “brain dead” by doctors on Friday.

According to reports, the pre-teen and a friend were floating in inner tubes on Lake Lanier in Atlanta when they were struck by a man on a jet ski. Glover was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water and airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; his friend, an unidentified 15-year old girl, was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the accident and the newspaper also reported that the man on the jet ski and Glover were a part of the same group on an outing at the lake.

Kyle Glover is the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster,the two are reportedly present at the hospital.
