Chelsea Offer John Terry One-Year Contract

John Terry, ChelseaChelsea captain, John Terry, has been offered a new one-year contract on Friday.

The Blues confirmed the English professional footballer’s extension on its website and twitter handle.

Interim manager, Guus Hiddink, who is preparing for his final Premier League match against champions, Leicester City, at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday said that Terry was considering the offer.

The 35-year-old former England defender would be out of contract at the end of the season.

He made his debut in 1998 and has played more than 700 games for the West London side.

British Couple Jailed For Slavery Of Nigerian Man

slaveryA British couple in London have been jailed for 12 years after they were found guilty of enslaving a man for almost 25 years.

61 year old Dr Emmanuel Edet, and his 58-year-old wife, Antan were sentenced for slavery, child cruelty and assisting unlawful immigration.

The victim was taken from Nigeria to the UK without his family’s permission in 1989, when he was 13 years old.

They claimed he agreed to be their domestic help on the basis that he would be paid and sent to school, but they made him carry out arduous, unpaid labour for 24 years.

He was forced to work for around 17 hours every day at their homes in Chatham, Scarborough, Walsall, Northolt and later Perivale, West London.

Prosecutor Damaris Lakin said the Edets told their captive he would be arrested as an illegal immigrant and deported if he left the house and contacted police.

“He believed this and felt trapped and completely dependent on the Edets,” Lakin said in a statement. “Emanuel and Antan Edet have cruelly robbed this victim of 24 years of his life. They have treated him with complete contempt.

“This was a shocking case of modern day slavery,” he said.

ISIS ‘Jihadi John’ Named As Mohammed Emwazi

Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti-born British man in his mid-20s from west London, He is a British computer programming graduate from a well-to-do London family.

He was later thought to have been pictured in the videos of the beheading of US journalist Steven Sotloff, British aid worker, David Haines, British taxi driver, Alan Henning and American aid worker, Abdul-Rahman Kassig also known as Peter.

The black-clad militant brandishing a knife and speaking with an English accent was shown in videos released by Islamic State IS, apparently decapitating hostages including Americans, Britons and Syrians.

The 26-year-old militant used the videos to threaten the West, admonish its Arab allies and taunt President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron before petrified hostages cowering in orange jump suits.

Emwazi’s name was first disclosed by the Washington Post, citing unidentified former associates, but two U.S. government sources who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed to Reuters that investigators believed Jihadi John was Emwazi.

Jihadi John became a menacing symbol of Islamic State brutality and one of the world’s most wanted men.

Hostages called him John as he and other Britons in IS had been nicknamed the Beatles.
