AIG Asks Policemen To Shun CorruptionThe Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 6, AIG Adisa Bolanta, has charged men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force to shun bribery and corruption.

Speaking at the Ebonyi State Police Command headquarters in Abakaliki, the state’s capital, AIG Bolanta urged them to be of good conduct in their relationship with members of the public.

He said the leadership of the Police would not condone any form of undue extortion or intimidation on civilians as they strive to sanitise the force.

The AIG added that the leadership of the Police would not hesitate to punish any erring officer who is found in any corruption scandal.

Minding the fact that the world is advancing technologically, he urged them to discharge their duties without assault.

In her address, the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi State, Peace Abdallah, commended the AIG for his visit. She listed some of her achievements since assuming office and also stated some of the challenges facing the command with an appeal for intervention.

The visit was AIG Bolanta’s first to Ebonyi State Police Command after the general elections. He said that the purpose was to familiarise with officers and men of the command and identify with them in the discharge of their official duties.
