amosunOgun State House of Assembly has passed the 2016 Appropriation Bill of 200.2 billion Naira.

The original amount sent to the lawmakers was reduced by about 74 million Naira from the total of 200.274 billion Naira presented to the House by the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, last month.

The passage of the Bill was sequel to the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation chaired by Honourable Akanbi Bankole, who later moved the motion for its adoption.

The Bill was passed, with an amendment in recurrent expenditure of the estimates of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Bureau of Tertiary Education as well as Signage and Advertising Agency.

Also, the revenue targets of the State Ministry of Information and Strategy, State Environmental Protection Agency, Judicial Service Commission, Housing Corporation, Hospital Management Board, Bureau of Information Technology and the State Hospital, Ota were slightly adjusted.

The appropriation Bill allocated 89.908 billion Naira for recurrent, 11 billion Naira for consolidated revenue fund charges including pensions and gratuities while 99.291 billion Naira was earmarked for capital expenditure.

Passing the Bill at the plenary on Tuesday, through a motion for the third reading moved by the Majority Leader, Honourable Adeyinka Mafe, seconded by Honourable Victor Fasanya and supported by the Whole House, the Speaker, Honourable Suraju Ishola Adekunbi ordered that the clean copy of the Bill be sent to the Governor for his assent.
