Jonathan sacks BPE boss

The Federal Government on Tuesday sacked the embattled Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Bolanle Onagoruwa.

The Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the Vice President, Umar Sani in a statement asked Ms Onagoruwa to hand over to Benjamin Ezra Dikki, the most Senior Director in the Bureau.

It will be recalled that the Senate had called for the removal of the DG for alleged wrongdoings.

    With this GEJ administration, Nigeria is still at a stand point since. You recruit and sack criminals and looters of Treasury, as they become sharper and faster by the day. May GOD heal us.

    Let President Jonathan tell the public what Ms Onagoruwa has done wrong.  It’s not enough to sack people holding such high profile jobs. Punish them if they’ve done wrong thru the due process of the law.    Is it because she opposed the sale of Power (nepa) firms
    to ex-Heads of States and other fraudsters(treasury looters) masquarading as businessmen/investors.
    If she has committed a crime, then charge her to court (even though the courts are useless at the moment).  The fact is that Nigeria is  irredeemable from the crowd of looters in the corridors of power.   Nigeria is already completely messed up;  all the
    institutions of state have been badly messed up and compromised:    The Police, the Judiciary, National Assembly, the Executive, etc- all completely messed up.   I grew up in Lagos and I have not seen a house in Ikoyi or Victoria Island owned by Sir Tafawa Balewa, Sir Ahmadu Bello, not even Dr Azikiwe all of whom were in power for a long time.  Why are the present leaders so greedy to the point where they want to loot all our resources and common wealth?   Every where you turn in Nigeria you find people stealing as if there is no one in control any more.   All good citizens of Nigeria are fed up with the present leadership. We should all join hands to remove them, even though I don’t know how!  It is a shame to note that the future is so bleak for the country and especially for the younger generation.

      It really is a very bad situation. And I think that you stated the answer: WE SHOULD ALL JOIN HANDS TO REMOVE THEM. For some reasons, the Nigerian YOUTH has not understood the kind of power he/she possesses; all we have asked for is TO BE INCLUDED; we have not DEMANDED power. Most of our leaders that came into power weren’t given it; they were YOUNG MEN who seized and held unto it ever since (unfortunately for the wrong reasons). How old was Zik, Awo, Gowon or Babangida when they came into the realms of power? And it definitely was very difficult for them dealing with the ‘COLONIAL MASTERS’. There were OLD MEN around while all of that was happening but it was guided YOUTHFUL EXURBERANCE that prevailed.

      They say politics is a game of numbers and I dare say that Nigeria has a YOUTHFUL population (at least 70%). Could the numbers be RALLIED to DEMAND CHANGE? It is possible but it will be an UPHILL TASK.

      We really need to think about how to move ahead.
