As security personnel take charge of the affected areas in Plateau state, reactions have continued to trail the decision by President Goodluck Jonathan in declaring a state of emergency in some local government areas in the northern part of the country including four in Plateau state.

While the State government expresses its continued support for measures aimed at containing threats to security in the state and the country at large, the Anglican Bishop of Jos and a member representing Jos East/Jos South Federal constituency in the National Assembly have expressed concerns on the reasons and modalities of the president’s decision.
