Mayweather/Pacquaio Fight likely for May
The Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mannie Pacquaio fight that has been long-awaited has once again been revived with Mayweather throwing a challenge through Twitter to Mannie Pacquaio.
The WBC Welterweight champion Mayweather has been sentenced to prison for 90 days for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, but a judge last week postponed imprisonment until June to allow the boxer to fight an unnamed challenger in May.
Now the five-division world champion has challenged WBO welterweight champion Pacquiao to be his opponent in what could be the most lucrative boxing match ever.
The challenge which was setup by Mayweather through the Social Network Twitter in his word said:’Manny Pacquiao I’m calling you out let’s fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk.’
The bout is eagerly anticipated because the two fighters are widely considered to be the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet.
There was no immediate response from eight-division world champion Pacquiao.
