Oshiomhole picks Odubu as running mate

Edo State governor and flag bearer of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the forthcoming July 14th governorship election in the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has announced his deputy governor, Dr. Pius Odubu as his running mate for the poll.

The governor who disclosed this in Benin City at the headquarters of his campaign structure, Comrade Oshiomhole said the choice of the deputy governor was arrived at after extensive consultations and in line with the guidelines of the ACN.

The governor who said there was no need to change a winning team disclosed that that the campaign for the election has been christened “Voters Mobilization Exercise.”

Comrade Oshiomhole said there was no need to choose someone else since the present administration within the last three years and four months has made tremendous impact on the lives of the people.

He disclosed that the former Secretary to Edo State Governor and South-south Senatorial leader of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu is to serve as Director General of the Campaign Organization while Barrister Henry Idahagbon is to function as secretary.

The governor added that the Board of the Campaign organization will be headed by a national leader of the ACN, Tom Ikimi and emphasized that the crack team of the campaign organization is set to make a statement that election in this country should be based on issues.

He also appealed to the media to be objective in their reportage.

The deputy governor and running mate to Comrade Oshiomhole in the forthcoming elections, Dr, Pius Odubu in an interview with journalists said he is highly elated by his choice and pledged to remain loyal and committed to the party.

There has been recent battle between supporters of Ize Iyamu and the deputy governor over the choice of a running mate.
