Petroleum Minister challenges Indigenous companies on local content

Indigenous operators in the oil industry have been urged to take advantage of the 2010 Local Content Development Act, to unlock Nigeria’s economic potentials and create employment opportunities.

The Minister of Petroleum Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke threw this challenge during the inauguration of an oil vessel owned by indigenous oil servicing company, Fenog, in Warri, Delta state.

She hoped that many other operators in the downstream service aspect of the industry will replicate Fenog’s example until Nigerian indigenous companies fully take over the sector.
